Producing Your Finished
eBook

your eBook. Now what?
You need to select a file format to deliver
your eBook in. This step is called the production
phase of your eBook process. This is a very simple phase, as
you will see.

I have tried Microsoft Publisher 98, Coffee software, so many others I can not even begin to mention. Some I purchased, some I downloaded, bought books ect., but for one reason or another they did not work out. For many of them, the problem was how to upload and sell my ebook. I could get a web site up and running, but they could not handle my ebook.
So for three years I was frustrated, until one day you came into my life and that all changed. How can I thank you. KD has really come to my rescue, so to speak. I now have a web site up and running. It's so hard for me to believe. It was as if it were made for me.
So I wanted to tell you that although it took me a few moments to understand inputing info and how the software worked, it went so smoothly, that I am still amazed. So KD and Skip, I just want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If you already have your ebook formatted and
ready for distribution, you can click over to the Publishing

If you are inclined to "do-it-yourself",
the next task to accomplish is to select the file format that
you will deliver your eBook in. Of course, you could simply
leave your document in a text (.txt) or (.doc) format if you
wrote your eBook with MS Word or another word processor.
However, you should consider the following
questions before deciding what format you will sell your eBook
in:
- How secure do you want your content to
be?
- What copyrights do you intend on protecting?
- What is the pass along value of your eBook?
- Who is your target audience and what is
their installed computer and operating system?
There are no clear standards for
file format delivery of eBooks. If you are concerned about customers
and their friends copying and using your content, then you should
take steps to protect it.
Be aware though, any determined person
can and will crack your security. You want to protect your ebook
from the other 95% of the market.
If you intend on allowing, and maybe even
encouraging people to use your content and pass it along (this
is a fantastic idea for creating a viral buzz about
you or your business), then any file format such as .txt or .doc
will work fine.
If you do want to take steps to protect your
content, there are really two file format categories to select
from:
- Acrobat PDF format world de
facto standard for document reading
- eBook Compiler proprietary tool that
creates executable (.exe) files for PCs only
Either of these types of tools works great,
depending on your target market and your specific content.
